Community rules
Challenge ideas. Respect people.
The goal is useful disagreement: clear questions, strong arguments on both sides, and room for Colorado to think.
Be honest
Do not knowingly submit false claims, invented sources, misleading statistics, or an argument designed to disguise what a proposal would do.
Write both sides fairly
Present the strongest reasonable case for and against an idea. Avoid loaded language, insults, slogans, or framing that makes only one answer sound acceptable.
Protect people
No threats, harassment, hate, private personal information, targeted accusations, impersonation, or instructions for wrongdoing. Discuss public choices without attacking private individuals.
Keep it useful
Submit one clear question, choose the best category, and stay within the word limits. Comments should add a useful perspective on the issue. Duplicate, promotional, irrelevant, profane, or impossible-to-understand content may be removed.
Moderation
Comments and usernames are checked automatically for prohibited language, but no automated filter is perfect. Editors may rewrite, label, reject, archive, or remove material to enforce these rules. Marking “I don't understand” helps identify questions that need revision; it is not a negative vote.
